Offical Soulseek Server is a closed-source program, and neither the binary or source has been shared. It has run on Linux, but may be running on a BSD variant now. Unless the Soulseek team are sued, the code will probably never be released. That's why there are a couple OpenSource alternatives.
Soulfind is an Open Source implementation of the Soulseek server written by SeeSchloss. It's in the D Language.
Captured-Souls is fork of Soulfind. It supports a few more Soulseek messages than Soulfind.
Soulserver is my OpenSource Python-based Soulseek server. It's unfinished, but improving, and supports chat, and 'normal' searches.
Mucous is my museekchat-based Curses client for Museek. I enhanced (read: added a ton of features) to the original Python client that Hyriand started.
